Teachers and Teaching
When I was younger, I used to look up to teachers as all-knowing and perfectly just. I mean, that’s what we were conditioned to learn. They were the arbitrary force that taught us the wonders of the world and was always right in everything they did, be it teaching or mediating or punishing. But as I grew out of that disillusionment, I realized that teachers are actually really fucking dumb and biased as hell. They have their mood swings, blow up at students for no reason, and for a large majority of the time are wrong. They really don’t know much more about life than we do. They spread a lot misconceptions that they’ve learned through television just as we did. And for us to look up to them is bullshit, because they’re idiots just like us.
Professors though, I have entirely a different amount of respect for them. Other than my dumbass Infotech professor. Stupidest motherfucker of all time. I have a problem with believing people who buy into conspiracy theories, don’t use proper grammar when sending out important emails, aren’t clear in what they expect, and all-in-all just dumb as a motherfucker.

haha… you are so true about it… I was thinking the same as you as a kid too..
teachers just aren’t made from the same stuff anymore.
Oh, LOL, DON’T even get me started. I work with dental specialists, instructors whom you’d think should command some respect right? NO, some of these people are just BAD people. And yes, the teachers of the modern era really aren’t as high-quality as 20 years ago..
Hmmm…, teachers and professors probably can only get us so far with whatever we’re learning. But it’ll be up to us to weed out all of their bull. With books, maybe not so much weeding out as if there’s anything not referenced correctly or wrong, the author of it would end up broke and perhaps ruin his/her own respectability. With learning anything, everything that comes into our heads or through our senses just always needs to be filtered and processed in order to really get something useful, esp with this time of massive and instant information flow, much of it being raw information. Just have a good set of values, ideas, way of thinking, etc. that makes you who you are, and through that, you’ll have a good information filter/processor setup
